ESF is a non-partisan civil society initiative that brings together Canadian business leaders, Indigenous peoples, organizations, and experts to implement a new vision for Canada\u2019s gas energy and infrastructure. ESF seeks to: advance reconciliation, reduce global emissions, and help our allies, all while building a stronger, more resilient and prosperous Canada.<\/p>\n\n<p>ESF\u2019s Advisory Council include key business representatives, industry groups, and civil society organizations. To date this includes:<\/p>\n\n<p>Indigenous organizations (including the Indian Resource Council, the First Nations LNG Alliance) and industry groups (including Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, Canadian Gas Association, Canadian Chemistry Industry Association).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>Many prominent individuals from across Canada have also lent their names to the initiative including: \u00a0<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Crystal Smith, Chief Councillor, Haisla Nation<\/li>\n<li>Ricardo Prosperi, President-Canada, Tenaris<\/li>\n<li>Sean Strickland, Executive Director, Canada&#8217;s Building Trades Unions<\/li>\n<li>Victor Thomas, President and CEO, Canada-India Business Council<\/li>\n<li>Chief Billy Morin, Managing Director, Axxcelus.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe past twelve months have provided new insight into how Canada should think about our energy future.\u00a0 Our natural gas, other gaseous fuels, and the infrastructure that moves them\u00a0can play a key role in reducing global emissions, advancing reconciliation, supporting our international allies, and creating prosperity at home.\u00a0We have a tremendous opportunity, and we want to come together to make it happen.\u201d\u00a0<br \/><em>&#8211; Shannon Joseph, Chair, Council for a Secure Energy Future<\/em><br \/><br \/>&#8220;On behalf of Canada\u2019s Building Trades Unions, I am pleased to join the Council for a Secure Energy Future, to take part in important discussions around \u00a0a new vision for Canada\u2019s gas energy and infrastructure.
